Caring for Gods Creation

We are committed to caring for God's creation, which has been entrusted to us. We have a small 'Eco Group' which meets and works together to develop and enrich the way we care for the environment and to drive forward our Environmental Policy.

We are a FAIRTRADE church working towards becoming an Eco Church. Here are some of the things we are already doing!
  • We recycle our recyclable waste and encourage others to do the same.
  • There is also a recycling point for ink cartridges and mobile phones in aid of Christian Aid.
  • We are always trying to conserve energy. Wherever possible we use low energy light bulbs.
  • Details of how to get to St Peter’s by public transport are available online and we encourage people to car share.
  • Whenever practical and possible we use environmentally friendly cleaning products.
  • We use Fairtrade Tea and Coffee and are always looking at other ways to use other Fairtrade products in our life together, and to make Fairtrade Products available to the congregation.
  • We use email and our website to publicise events and to communicate with people, cutting down on the use of paper. We use recycled paper whenever possible.
  • ALL wastepaper and glass is recycled. We use oil candles-to avoid any wax waste.

As much as possible -

We encourage people to use the Food Cooperative now based at St Peter's Community Hall, offering affordable fruit, vegetables and salad to local people and helping to cut down transport costs and packaging.

We also support Christian Aid campaigns about the effect we have on the world and the lives of the world's poor, bringing hope and practical support to those in need.

COMMUNITY HALL
We are keen to continue to make our Hall Space available to the local community and so contribute to the sustainability of the community.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

We are committed to the continued development of our Community Garden and Natural habitat. For details of our large pond, wildflower meadow,Welsh heritage Apple Trees, and raised flower beds - Click Here. We are also in the process of creating raised beds for organic vegetables.
