Spiritual Communion

A few people have said how much they miss their Communion, so here is a short service to unite with the priests in various parts of the world who are still able to celebrate the Eucharist.

WELCOME Christ within this special time of prayer
Lord Jesus I welcome you with all my heart.                                                                                                                                 May your grace and peace be with me                                                                                                                                         and with all my brothers and sisters.
Briefly examine your conscience
and pray for Christ’s forgiveness
and welcome his healing grace

Lord you brought healing and wholeness                                                                                                                                      Lord have mercy

Lord Jesus you give light to those in darkness                                                                                                                             Christ have mercy

Lord Jesus you hold us up in prayer                                                                                                                                            before the God and Father of us all                                                                                                                                               Lord have mercy

May the Lord cleanse and deliver me from all evil                                                                                                                        and bring me to the peace of his glorious Kingdom

Listen to God’s living Word

Choose a passage from the Gospels and read & think over.                                                                                                                         eg John 15 v 9-11  or John 14 v27
In response to the Gospel make an act of Faith

Lord, I believe and trust in you                                                                                                                                                      I seek to surrender myself to your will                                                                                                                                          in communion with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Give thanks for the times you have received Holy Communion
and for Christ’s continued sacramental presence in our church

and say:      JESUS MY LORD I THEE ADORE                                                                                                                                              O HELP ME LOVE AND SERVE YOU MORE AND MORE

Final Prayer

May the Cross of Christ go before me                                                                                                                                          the powerful love of the Risen Christ surround me                                                                                                                       The Saints of God pray with me                                                                                                                                                    To God be the Glory: Father Son and Holy Spirit                                                                                                                          Now and for evermore. AMEN
