Taize Community

The Taizé Community is an ecumenical monastic order  It is composed of more than one hundred brothers, from Protestant and Catholic traditions, who originate from about thirty countries across the world.

Taize is a multi-cultural Christian community in Taizé, Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy, France. It offers people the chance to get away from the pressures of modern living and spend time in reflection and prayer.

The Archbishop said, “The ecumenical international community at Taize has transformed the lives of many young people through its worship and outreach. It is good to know that these values are so treasured by them when they discover them.”

Revd Gareth Rayner-Williams, chaplain at Bishop of Llandaff Church-in-Wales High School said, “Taize is a place where young people discover peace for themselves. It’s a place of simple food, simple accommodation and simple but engaging talk with people who share only a few words of your language. As a teacher and chaplain it is a rare privilege to take young people to such a place knowing that Taize will be a place of deep blessing to them.” Some of the young people from our Parish - that attend the Bishop of Llandaff Church-in-Wales High School -  visited Taize at the begining of July.
