It’s nearly a year since we started Rangers. During that time, 3 of our members had an invitation from Buckingham Palace to attend the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations at Llandaff Cathedral. They were Hannah Moore, Imogen Gell and Harriet Martin-Jones. All three are Lord Mayor’s Guides. They also have attended various services at County Hall for the Holocaust celebrations and St. Johns’ Church in Town, the latest one Hannah and Harriet Carried the Flag for the Guides at the St. David’s Day celebrations which Prince Charles and Lady Camilla Parker Bowles attended. Prince Charles stopped and spoke to both the girls asking them ‘How long they had been waiting outside and would they be joining them inside for the service’. They answered ‘not long’ ‘Your Highness’ and ‘yes’ to joining them for the service once everyone was inside.
We also have been horse riding in Caerphilly, and have done various activities e.g. crafts, we also went to help deliver baby lambs on a farm in Swansea, and the girls had photos taken with the new born.
We went to ‘Churchill’s Hotel’ last Wednesday 6th March for a pamper evening to help raise funds for the ‘Welsh Heart Foundation’. Everyone who attended really enjoyed themselves. This Wednesday March 20th we are having St. John’s Ambulance attending to show the girls basic First Aid.
We are aiming to raise funds for the Unit and the Community Hall by holding a pamper evening during April, and would welcome anyone from Church to attend. The date will be added to the calendar of events shortly.
We would welcome any new members aged between 14 and 26 years old. We meet every other Wednesday in the Community Hall between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
